Ollie Smith's Marathon Mission

I'm running the TCS London Marathon 2023 for NSPCC because no child deserves to be left behind.

Austerity. Lockdowns. Abuse. Algorithms. Young children won't necessarily fully understand the impact of those four things on their lives in the way that we now do, but you can rest assured that they are four of the most powerful (and pernicious) concepts putting kids at risk in 2023.

The NSPCC does vital work in helping children get the best start in life, often against the odds. It is also putting pressure on policy makers to keep children at the heart of the conversation on online safety. It cannot do any of that without donations big and small.

In April this year I'm running the London Marathon to do my bit for a charity working at the sharp end to help prevent youth suicide, tackle the scourge of self-harm in adolescents, and give every child that rings Childline some hope and inspiration for the future.

In very difficult times, donations of all shapes and sizes are very much appreciated, even if it's just £2. My employer Morningstar will be matching, so there's even more of an incentive to give.
